Israel's Idea For The Establishment Of A Palestinian State In Saudi Arabia Reaps Criticism

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi strongly condemns the Israeli occupation force's statement against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as Israel's demand to establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Budai stated that the dangerous and irresponsible statement underscores the approach of Israeli occupation forces that do not respect international law, agreement and sovereignty of countries.

The Secretary General reiterated the firm and steadfast stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries of GCC in supporting the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, as well as highlighting the significant and valuable efforts made by the Kingdom and the countries of GCC in regional and international forums to advance the Palestinian struggle.

"These efforts focus on the need for a two-state solution, support Palestinian sovereignty over the entire occupied Palestinian territories since June 1967, establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and ensure the right to return refugees in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolution," he said.

Secretary-General also called on the international community to take serious and firm steps against Israel's aggressive statement, which threatens security and stability both in the region and at the global level.
