Smuggling Of 60,205 Lobster Seeds Successfully Foiled By The Indonesian Navy And Juanda Airport

JAKARTA - Smuggling of 60,205 clear lobster seeds worth more than Rp9 billion with the mode of being put in a baggage box by passengers with the initials RA with the aim of getting to Singapore was successfully thwarted by the Indonesian Navy together with the Juanda International Airport Task Force and Customs and Excise.

Commander of the Indonesian Navy Aviation Center Rear Admiral TNI Sisyani Jaffar said that his party received intelligence information related to efforts to smuggle lobster seeds on Friday (7/2) using Scoot Tiger Air TR263 SUB-SIN airline which is scheduled to depart at 19.40 local time.

"Based on this information, the P2 KPPBC Team Juanda and the Task Force carried out strict supervision of passenger goods on the flight," said TNI Admiral Sisyani, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 8.

Towards the time of departure, officers who made observations found two suspicious boxes of luggage.

Airport security officers then checked with x-rays and found a suspicious appearance so that a physical examination of the items was carried out.

Based on the results of the examination, he said, 49 plastic packages were found containing clear lobster seeds, as many as 59,154 clear lobster seeds of sand type and 1,051 clear lobster seeds of pearl type with a total value of Rp9,083,300,000.00.

The findings will then be coordinated with law enforcement officials in Surabaya, East Java, for further legal proceedings.
