JAKARTA - Chairman of the 170th Anniversary of the Evangelical News Committee in Papua, Derek Ampner, said that the total budget support in the celebration was approximately Rp9.6 billion.

He explained that the budget support came from a number of parties, including grant assistance from the West Papua Provincial Government of IDR 7 billion, and the Manokwari Regency Government (Pemkab) IDR 1 billion.
Then, assistance from the Arfak Mountains Regency Government of Rp. 500 million, the Bintuni Bay Regency Government Rp. 500 million, the GKI Synod in Papua Rp. 250 million, and the personal assistance of the elected West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan Rp. 200 million.
"The rest came from personal assistance from Acting Governor of West Papua Ali Baham Temongmere of Rp. 50 million and others," said Derek as quoted by ANTARA.
He said budget support made it easier for the committee to draw up the concept of a five-year celebration in commemorating the history of the first news of the Bible in Papua through Mansimnam Island.
The concept of celebration is meant to contain ritual and cultural elements from seven traditional regions throughout the Land of Papua, tourism development, and empowerment of the MSME sector.
"This concept is reflected in the celebration of worship combined with a number of colossal and modern dances. Small business actors also benefit," he said.
