The 3 Kg Gas Cylinder Policy Makes Tangerang Residents Rampage In Front Of Bahlil: "Don't Make It Difficult For The People"

TANGERANG The presence of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia at the 3 Kg gas cylinder base, Jalan Palem Raya, Cibodas, Tangerang City received criticism from a resident named Efendi. He protested against government policies that were considered difficult for the lower class.

It started when Bahlil explained that the retailer would have a 3 Kg Gas Sub-Basic Status to the residents. Suddenly from a distance, a local man appeared, angry with Bahlil regarding the policy of a 3 kg gas cylinder.

"Don't make it difficult for residents, don't make policies that trouble the residents. A little expensive price is okay, the important thing is easy to get," shouted Efendi at the location, Tuesday, February 4.

Bahlil also looked surprised, especially the protocol of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Police officers tried to help calm the residents.

Efendi again expressed his complaint in a loud tone. He admitted that he was annoyed with government policies that seemed not to side with the people.

"There is no type. It is not justified like this, officials, not taking sides with the people. Look at this queue. Why make it difficult for the people themselves. What do you want? What do you want?," he said.

"Adab has issued, our ethics has been issued, why don't the officials think about the people," he continued.

The protocol until the officers tried to calm the residents again. He tried to secure the gas cylinder that the resident brought.

"Please let go.. let go (take the gas cylinder). Calm down. These are for me," he said.

"Officers can have a dialogue later, calm down. Don't be harsh," said Bahlil's bodyguard.

A dialogue session ensued, Bahlil again explained that he as part of the government was obliged so that the subsidies issued could be right on target. Thus, the arrangement of the sale was carried out.

"That's why you don't need to worry, now our retailers have raised their status to sub-baseline so that they are closer to you at a fixed price of Rp. 19 thousand, or a maximum of Rp. 20,000, so that the state can control it. So that no one misuses LPG subsidies anymore," he explained.

Efendi again asked, that as a policymaker, Bahlil has tools to enforce the law against violators, such as subsidized gas hoarders to abuse. So, for him, there is no need to make policies that trouble most people.

"You have a weapon, you have tools to act, not the people who are sacrificed. That's the first. Second, if we are told to become a Sub Base, what are the requirements? If the ID card is privacy," asked Efendi.

"There are no requirements," replied Bahlil
