JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) thwarted the departure of seven non-procedural Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) to Qatar and Oman.

"So, for the umpteenth time, we have thwarted the departure of illegal or non-procedural PMIs," said P2MI Minister Abdul Kadir Karding at the East Jakarta Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI), Tuesday, February 4, which was confiscated by Antara.

In an effort to thwart this, the KemenP2MI Rapid Response Team found that there were non-procedural CPMI departure efforts when following up on information and conducting searches in the Bojong Kulur Gunung Putri area, Bogor, West Java, on Monday, February 3, 2025.

After the search, the seven CPMIs were recorded with the initials SJ from Lampung, NNA from Bandung, N from Sulawesi, WN from Maluku, L from Cirebon, H from South Kalimantan, and N from Karawang.

The seven PMIs are planned to be placed non-procedurally to Oman and Qatar, before being thwarted.

Based on the results of the interview, the seven CPMIs have been accommodated at Calo "SY's house for 1 week to 1 month and will depart non-procedurally to Oman and Qatar countries to work as ART.

Of the seven PMIs, two of them with the initials SJ and N will be dispatched to Kuala Lumpur via the airport in Surabaya on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, and upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur will be given a ticket to Oman.

During prevention and rescue, the CPMI only had an ID card. Meanwhile, documents such as the seventh CPMI passport are under the control of the Indonesian Agency "S", whose whereabouts are currently unknown.

According to the information from the CPMIs, the promised salary is IDR 5 million to IDR 6 million as a household assistant.

The CPMIs were also promised a fee of Rp. 3 million to Rp. 10 million, but only Rp. 2 million was given. The rest will be given when the CPMI arrives in Oman and Qatar.

Currently, the CPMIs have been handed over and rescued to the BP3MI DKI Jakarta shelter in Ciracas, East Jakarta for guidance and facilitated their return.

Furthermore, the KemenP2MI Team will coordinate with the local police to deepen the "SY" and Indonesian Agency "S" brokers and their networks for further processing in accordance with applicable regulations.

On that occasion, Minister Karding reminded all Indonesian people to work abroad procedurally so as not to become victims of TIP, be exploited and bear material losses.

He also expressed his hope that the perpetrators in the case could be prosecuted according to applicable regulations.

"This incident continues. For this reason, in the future, the KemenP2MI and the police are targeted as players. So that gradually we can be brave in the future," said Minister Karding.
