JAKARTA - A mother named Yenny Januari (32) visited the law office on KH Mas Mansyur Street, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 19 yesterday. It has been 2 months since she admitted that he could not meet her children.

The case started when Yenny was evicted by her husband from their house in the Kebon Jeruk area, West Jakarta. After that, Yenny forbade her husband to meet her children.

"On February 10, my husband kicked me out of the house at around 11 p.m. He pushed me in front of my first child. He kicked me out. All threats came out of his mouth", Yenny said in Jakarta as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 20.

Due to this incident, Yenny reported her husband to West Jakarta Police Headquarters on February 11, 2021. She also said that she was a victim of Domestic Violence (KDRT) committed by EP.

Yenny revealed that her body was pushed to the ground repeatedly and suffered bruises. However, after the incident of violence and reports to the police, Yenny began to shut down her access to meet the two children who are still with her husband.

She has also met with a number of legal aid agencies so that she can reunite with her children.

"My children were detained by my husband. I have visited KPAI (Indonesian Child Protection Commission), National Commission on Violence against Women, and The Indonesian National Human Rights Commission but until now I still have not been able to meet the children", she complained.

The woman from Pangkal Pinang hopes that she can meet as soon as possible, especially since she has fully submitted the case to the attorney.

Previously, a number of institutions that she had visited were limited to calling EP three times, but until now there has been no good intention from her husband to come and clarify.

Meanwhile, Attorney Afdhal Muhammad said that although there has been no response from a number of bodies being written, such as KPAI, National Commission on Violence against Women, and The Indonesian National Human Rights Commission, she will take further legal steps.

"According to the client's request, I also took legal steps to file a divorce suit at the West Jakarta District Court, namely asking for divorce from this husband and wife", said Afdhal.

Regarding the reporting of domestic violence that happened to his client, Afdhal added that until now the case has entered the fingerprint stage at the West Jakarta Police Women and Children Protection Unit.
