DKI Provincial Government Proposes 3 Kg LPG Gas HET In Jakarta To Be Increased, This Is The Reason

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) Hari Nugroho will propose an increase in the highest retail price (HET) of 3 kilograms of LPG (kg) gas to the central government.

The reason is that currently HET gas 3 kg in Jakarta is still IDR 16,000 based on the determination of the 2015 governor's regulation. Meanwhile, several buffer areas have set HET at IDR 19,000.

"The buffer areas or borders from Jakarta such as Tangerang, Banten, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, have experienced an increase in the HET as of 2019. We have not increased since 2015," Hari said when contacted, Monday, February 3.

The difference between HET Jakarta and other areas in Jabodetabek, according to Hari, is one of the reasons why it is difficult for residents to look for LPG gas during the transition period for the gas sales ban by retailers.

Seeing the LPG gas HET in Jakarta which is lower than the buffer zone, buyers from buffer areas also look for gas in Jakarta.

"Our quota (3 kg of gas) can be eroded, buffer areas can be utilized. This variable disparity also affects. Well, of course in the future we will discuss the HET earlier to be increased according to the buffer zone," explained Hari.

On the one hand, Hari also asked Jakarta residents not to panic buying gas 3 kg. The government, looking down on Hari, will carry out market operations to ensure that the 3 kg LPG gas stock sold at the base agent is evenly available.

"I hope there is no need to accumulate too much LPG gas. We will overcome the daily needs with market operations. We are collaborating with Pertamina, the MSME Service and related to be able to make it happen again. So, there is no need to panic buying. Just normal purchases," said Hari.

Hari memastikan stok gas LPG di Jakarta belum mengalami kelangkaan. Namun, peraturan baru pemerintah yang melarang penjualan gas 3 kg di pencer dan hanya tersedia di base resmi itu yang menimbulkan panic buying.

"Sub distributors or LPG bases are no longer allowed to distribute 3 kg LPG to retailers. So they were immediately taken over by the base agent. There was panic buying so that in the end it seemed like LPG was rare," said Hari.
