JAKARTA - Palestine strongly condemns US President Donald Trump's call to "clean up" the Gaza Strip and recast them in Jordan and Egypt.

"The Palestinian people and their leaders firmly reject any policies or actions aimed at destroying Palestinian land unity, including the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem," the Palestinian presidency said.

The statement stressed the Palestinian people "will never leave their land or their holy places, and we will not allow the disaster (Nakba) to repeat in 1948 and 1967."

"Our people will remain steadfast and will not leave their homeland," he said in a statement.

Palestinian fighters group Hamas also criticized Trump's call to re-uthimize Gaza's population in neighboring countries.

"Our people, who have stood firm in the face of the most horrific acts of genocide in modern history committed by fascist Israeli occupation soldiers ... firmly reject any plans for their relocation or deportation of their land," he said in a statement.

The group called on the US government "to cancel these proposals, which are in line with Israel's plans and against the rights and free wishes of our people."

They also demanded the US government "to work so that the Palestinian people can achieve their freedom and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."

Hamas called on Washington to pressure Israel "to speed up the mechanism to rebuild what had been destroyed during its brutal war in Gaza and restore normal life on that path."

They also appealed to Arab and Islamic countries, particularly Egypt and Jordan, "to reaffirm their steadfast position in rejecting settlements and deportation" and providing all forms of support to the Palestinian people.

Gaza's state media office has asked all countries in the world to reject Trump's plans to re-imulate Palestinians.

"Talks about re-residentialization are in line with the occupation (Israel) efforts declared during the aggression to displac our citizens," the media office said in a statement.

"This idea will remain a mere illusion in the minds of those who proposed it, and will surely fail like all plans and eviction attempts over the past few decades," the statement said.

Describes Gaza as the "dismantling location," Trump called on Saturday (25/1) to "clean up" the Palestinian enclave and re-imulate Palestinians in Jordan and Egypt.

"I'd rather engage with some Arab countries and build housing in different locations where they might be able to live peacefully for change," Trump told reporters at Air Force One.

"You talk about about about a million and a half people, and we just cleaned everything up and said, 'You know, it's over,'" he added.

Trump's proposal comes a week after the ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on January 19, which suspended the Israeli genocide war that has killed more than 47,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and injured more than 111,000 people since October 7, 2023.

Israeli attacks have left more than 11,000 people missing, with widespread damage and a humanitarian crisis that has claimed the lives of many parents and children in one of the worst global humanitarian disasters ever.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant in November 2024 for Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense chief Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing genocide cases at the International Court (ICJ) over its war in the enclave.
