Floods And Landslides Hit Temanggung Due To Low Intensity Rain But Often Down

JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) revealed that Temanggung Regency in Central Java was affected by landslides and flooding due to low intensity rain but has often occurred in recent times.

"It's been raining for a long time, even though the rain is not heavy but the intensity is old," said Temanggung BPBD Chief Executive Totok Nursetyanto in Temanggung, Tuesday, January 21, as reported by Antara.

Floods occurred in the Bejen sub-district, in the Ngloji and Selosabrang areas, floods occurred. Meanwhile, landslides hit the Tretep, Kranggan, and Kaloran areas.

He explained that the worst landslide occurred in Gemawang Hamlet, Sanggrahan Village, Kranggan District, hitting a resident's house until the wall of the living room broke down.

Totok appealed to residents living in landslide-prone areas to be more careful, let alone build houses behind cliffs.

The affected victim in Gemawang Hamlet, Saryadi (40), said the landslide occurred when he and his family were at his mother's residence next to the landslide location.

"So at around 21.30 WIB it was raining, suddenly in front of the house collapsed 15 meters long with a height of about three meters. There was a commotion from north to south, the incident 21.30 WIB was raining," he said.
