How The United Arab Emirates Prevents Corruption From Being Imitated By The KPK When Recommending Investment Regulations To The Government

This was conveyed by the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan during a meeting with the United Arab Emirates Accountability Authority (UAEAA) at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, January 20.

"We provide recommendations so that regulations related to investment such as oil and gas or new and renewable energy do not accommodate only one party," said Pahala, quoted from the KPK's official written statement, Tuesday, January 21.

"We are also trying to make subsidies from the government right on target, so that there is no leakage of the state budget," he continued.

Pahala said the United Arab Emirates was a reference because their corruption perception index (CPI) score was ranked in the top 30 in the world. In fact, the UAE GPA is ranked 26th out of 180 countries in 2023.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Agus Joko Pramono said his institution and the UAAA continue to strengthen synergy. One way to learn to identify potential abuse of power that can harm the public interest.

"All of this is a strategic step in eradicating corruption in the strategic era in era of eradicating corruption," he said at the same event.

Tak hanya itu, penguatan teknologi juga bakal dilaksanakan komisi antirasuah. "Kami akan terus berkoordinasi dengan para pemangku kepentingan, termasuk Presiden untuk mendorong tata kelola pemerintahan sesuai dasar hukum yang berlaku," ujar Agus.

Menanggapi pertemuan ini, Chairman UAEAA Humaid Obaid Abushibs menyatakan sinergi ini merupakan langkah besar bagi kedua negara. Terlebih lagi, Indonesia dan negaranya memiliki hubungan diplomatik yang harmonis di berbagai bidang.

Indonesia is an important partner for us, therefore strengthening the synergy of anti-corruption agencies between countries is very influential. I hope this can go well in Indonesia," concluded Humaid.
