Eight Factions In The Legislative Council Of The House Of Representatives Agree On Revision Of The Minerba Law

The eight factions in the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI have agreed to continue discussing the revision of the Law (RUU) on the Fourth Amendment to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining (Minerba), as an Initiative of the DPR.

The agreement was taken at a plenary meeting to make a decision on the results of the preparation of the Revision of the Minerba Law which took place at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, during a recess on Monday, January 20, evening.

"We ask for the approval of the meeting, can the results of the drafting of the Law on the Fourth Amendment to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining be processed further in accordance with statutory regulations?" asked Baleg Chairman Bob Hasan.

"Agreed," replied the Baleg member present.

Bob Hasan said the eight factions in the DPR, namely Gerindra, PDI Perjuangan, Golkar, PKB, PKS, Democrats, PAN, and NasDem, had expressed their respective views regarding the draft Revision of the Minerba Law.

All factions provide a number of notes related to the revision of the Minerba Law, including an in-depth study of the changes, involving public participation, expert participation including linguists and mining experts, as well as business actors listed in the Minerba Bill.

"The eight factions are complete. In essence, we can conclude that the note is that there must be an in-depth study, it must involve public participation, public participation, we must also have clusters related to experts, linguists, mining experts, including business actors listed in the bill," he explained.

All factions agreed to bring the results of the Baleg plenary meeting to the second level discussion at the Plenary Meeting forum, which was held today, Tuesday, January 21.
