Palace Responds To ASN Action Of The Ministry Of Education And Technology, Saintek: Wait For Internal Dialogue Results

Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, responded to the demonstration carried out by the state civil apparatus (ASN) at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemendikti Saintek).

The employees conveyed criticism of Minister Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro, who was considered to have shown arrogance and rudeness.

Hasan asked all parties to wait for the results of the ongoing dialogue between the ministry and the Dikti Employee Association.

"We are just waiting for the results of the dialogue that is being carried out within the ministry. So far, we believe this problem can be resolved through a heart-to-heart dialogue with a cool head," Hasan said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Monday, January 20.

Dozens of ASN Kemendikti Saintek held a protest in the lobby of the ministry building on Jalan Pintu Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday morning. They highlighted the attitude of Minister Satryo which was considered authoritarian and was not in accordance with the procedures for implementing policies in the ministry.

Suwitno, one of the employees who took part in the action, explained that this protest was a response to policies that were considered unfair.

"This action is actually not a demonstration, but a response to comments and policies that are not in accordance with procedures. Many employees feel disadvantaged, especially regarding authoritarian policies, including dismissal without explanation," said Suwitno.

In addition, the employees also demanded that an official explanation be given regarding the status of employees who had been dismissed.

Hasan Nasbi expressed his belief that this issue could be resolved peacefully through internal dialogue.

"We believe this problem can be resolved in a good way. All parties are expected to be able to sit down together to find the best solution," he added.

The palace emphasized the importance of constructive communication between the Ministry of Education and Technology, Saintek, and its employees. Internal dialogue is expected to be able to overcome the tensions that arise due to policies and attitudes questioned by ASN.
