TANGERANG - TPI Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) Special Class I Immigration Office, Tangerang City, presents child-friendly spaces to improve the quality of services for passport applicants, especially children aged 5 years and under.

Head of the Immigration Travel Documents and Immigration Stay Permit Division of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Denny Irawan, explained that this child-friendly space is designed to facilitate the process of taking biometrics and photos of children, which are often hampered by fear of uniformed officers.

This is the first time we have presented this child-friendly room in an immigration environment. Children often feel afraid of the officers' uniforms, making it difficult to undergo the biometric process and photos," Denny told reporters, Monday, January 20.

In this child-friendly space, there are various facilities specifically designed for the convenience of children, including airplane-shaped chairs, beds for babies, and tablets that are used to distract children during the photo session.

"Children can sit in airplane-shaped chairs, while babies are provided with beds specifically for biometric collection and photos. In addition, there are tablets as entertainment media to make children feel comfortable," he added.

Denny also mentioned that this service is equipped with officers dressed as flight attendants to create a more friendly and less frightening atmosphere for children. Every child who comes will also be given a "golden ticket" in the form of a boarding pass to enter the service room.

Today, services have just been launched and have processed three children. We are targeting priority for 20 toddler applicants every day," he explained.

Denny is optimistic that this service can speed up the passport management process for toddlers, which previously often took a long time as children cried or fussy.

"With the existence of a child-friendly room, the process of photos and interviews now only takes about three minutes. We hope this can improve service efficiency," he concluded.

With this innovation, it is hoped that the experience of parents in managing their child's passport will be easier and more comfortable.
