Kemen Imipas Says Firli Bahuri's Check Is Still Extended

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemen Imipas) said that the demarcation of former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri could still be extended.

Acting Director General of Immigration Saffar Muhammad Godam explained that deviation can be carried out again even though Firli has been banned twice.

"There is a mechanism that is possible to be subject to further prevention, namely the DPO (wanted list) mechanism," said Saffar at the East Plaza, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, January 19.

However, he said, this step also depends on the previous application agency for the determination of Firli Bahuri.

Meanwhile, Saffar said that he would check further on the deviation of Firli.

On a different occasion, Minister Imipas Agus Andrianto also said that he would check further regarding the deviation.

Based on Article 102 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, or before being converted into Law Number 63 of 2024, it is stated that delinquency can be carried out for a maximum of six months, and can be extended for a maximum of six months.

As for Firli, he was first banned in November 2023, and then on June 25, 2024, which ended on December 25, 2024. Meanwhile, Law Number 63 of 2024 which regulates the denomination of validity for 10 years was only set for October 17, 2024.

Firli was banned for being involved in the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
