JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will evaluate the standard safety of the building following the fire incident at Glodok Plaza, Tamansari, West Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/1).

"Surely we will review this fire, we evaluate it from various variables, from various aspects, that's what we have to do too, later we will also discuss it, of course also with relevant stakeholders," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Teguh Setyabudi at Glodok Plaza, Saturday, January 18 reported by ANTARA.

Regarding the cause of the fire, he said, his party would conduct an investigation.

"Technically related to the cause problem, then how to handle it. For that, there is a further investigation study regarding the cause," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting (Plt) to the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Satriadi Gunawan said that his party had checked the safety certification of each building in Jakarta.

"So indeed, according to the rules, every building must have building fire safety certification which we always check every year, related to the protection of the fire, so that's what we do to provide guidance to buildings in DKI Jakarta," he explained.

To continue the evacuation of victims, his party will coordinate with building owners and managers.

"Seeing that the condition of the fire incident did not allow members to evacuate victims, so we must first make sure the debris or iron that could interfere with the evacuation we clean it first and then we can evacuate," explained Satriadi.

The process of extinguishing the fire at Glodok Plaza, Tamansari, West Jakarta, was declared complete on Friday (17/1) afternoon.

However, said Satriadi, the process of searching for victims or bodies will continue to be carried out.

"We are coordinating with the Police. Then also with the manager or owner," he said.

Because, according to him, the construction of the building no longer allows us to evacuate. "So maybe there needs to be special handling," said Satriadi.

Until now, there have been seven bodies that have been successfully evacuated to the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

Meanwhile, 14 people were reported missing in the fire, namely Ade Aryati (29), Sinta Amelia (20), Aldrinas (29), Aulia Belinda (28), Odima Yukari (25), Deri Saiki (25), Indira Seviana Bela (25) and Keren SALom J (21), Intan Mutiara (26), Desty and Zukhi Radja (42), Chika Adinda Yustin (26), Muljadi (56) and Dian Cahyadi (38).
