Tito Will Ask For Poligamy Allowed ASN Poligamy Policy To The Acting Governor Of DKI

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi who allows state civil servants (ASN) within the provincial government to be polygamous.

"Monday (January 20), I will visit DKI. On Monday, I will visit DKI at 3 or half past 4 (sore) yes in order to check the approval of the building. There, I will also ask later," Tito said quoting Antara.

Therefore, Tito did not want to give further responses to the policy of polygamy.

"I can't answer something I haven't read yet. I'll read it first, and I'll ask," he continued.

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi on Monday (6/1) issued Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 2 of 2025 concerning Procedures for Provision of Marriage and Divorce Permits.

In the governor's regulation, there are provisions governing the procedure for ASN in the provincial government who want to have more than one wife or polygamy.

The provisions are regulated in Chapter III of the Governor's Regulation, including Article 4 and Article 5.

Article 4 paragraph (1) of the governor's regulation stipulates that male ASN who wish to be polygamous must obtain permission from the authorized official before marriage.

The next provision, if the permit is not obtained, but there are ASNs who are polygamous then they can be subject to severe disciplinary punishment in accordance with statutory provisions.

Provisions regarding sanctions are regulated in Article 5 paragraph (3) which regulates disciplinary penalties to be imposed based on the results of the examination taking into account the impact of violations.

On a separate occasion, Teguh said that his policy was to protect ASN families.

He explained that the governor's regulation had been discussed since 2023 before it was finally ratified last week. In the process, all regional apparatus including coordination with the ministry have also been carried out.

"We want the marriage, the divorce carried out by ASN in DKI Jakarta can really be reported, so that it will also be for good," Teguh said on the sidelines of his activities in Jakarta, Friday.

He also regretted the impression that arose later regarding the regulation.

"What is going viral is as if we allow polygamy, it's absolutely not in our spirit," said Teguh.
