Regarding Hasto's Examination Today, Lawyers: Ask KPK Investigators

JAKARTA - The legal team of the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto, Maqdir Ismail, did not talk much about his client's examination today. He said an explanation would be given by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) according to the agreement that had been made.

This was conveyed by Maqdir after Hasto underwent an examination for about 3.5 hours or from 10.00 WIB to 13.20 WIB at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. The politician was examined as a suspect in the alleged bribery in the interim replacement (PAW) for members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation.

"For other matters related to cases, please ask the investigators," said Maqdir, Monday, January 13.

"Because this is our agreement with investigators. We only conveyed that Pak Hasto was only being investigated for two cases, namely the bribery case and the case obstructing the investigation," continued the lawyer.

Maqdir ensured that Hasto was ready to be questioned again by investigators. Even so, he did not specify the exact time.

"Further examinations will be carried out in accordance with the needs of the investigators," he said.

Meanwhile, Hasto did not provide any information after undergoing examination. He only chose to hurry out of the building with his legal team, including the Chairman of the PDIP DPP for Legal Reform Ronny B. Talapessy.

The examination this time was rescheduling Hasto because he could not attend on Monday, January 6. At that time, he reasoned that there had been a series of PDIP's 52nd Anniversary scheduled for the first time.

Previously reported, the KPK developed a case of alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members involving former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were named as new suspects, namely Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah, a PDIP cadre as well as a lawyer.

Hasto is also a suspect in the obstruction case of the investigation. He is suspected of obstructing the legal process by asking Harun Masiku to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
