Viral Motorcycle Gang Show Off Sharp Weapon On Street Serang City, Police: All Star Gang, They Want Revenge

JAKARTA - The Banten Regional Police have arrested 10 members of the All-Star Serang Timur motorcycle gang roaming the streets carrying sharp weapons. This action was revealed from a video that went viral on social media.

This motorcycle gang action took place on Saturday, March 6 in the morning at 03.00 WIB.

"We, from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Banten Regional Police, together with the Police of Criminal Investigation Division, have succeeded in securing 10 people from the motorcycle gang group, which is the result of the development of the motorcycle gang action incident which we both witnessed viral on social media", said Directorate of General Criminal Investigation Banten Kombes Martri Sonny at the Police Headquarters Serang the City, Sunday, March 7.

In a video that goes viral on social media, a group of motorcycle gangs estimated at around 100 people brandished sharp weapons while driving.

According to Martri, the reason for the arrest of members of the All-Star East Serang motorcycle gang was because they disturbed the security and public order in the Banten Regional Police jurisdiction, particularly the city of Serang.

Based on provisional information obtained by investigators, the mode of the motorcycle gang to act was to take revenge.

"About 2 months ago, according to the information about how many had been secured, they took revenge because a group of them would be tortured or stabbed", said Martri.

"Responding to this incident they planned to take revenge in which the results of the communication made by this person through a social media group called All star", he continued.

Martri also explained that until now the Banten Regional Police of Criminal Investigation Unit was still developing.

"Based on the information from the 10 people we have secured, we are still developing and the number we secure may increase", he said.

Currently, the police confiscated evidence in the form of sickles, combs cleaver, and cell phones. Ten suspects who were involved in the motorbike gang procession have now been arrested.

They are threatened with Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 with a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison, Article 160 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum sentence of 6 years in prison, Article 11 paragraph 1 letter A of Perda No. 1 of 2020 with a maximum sentence of 1-year prison.
