COVID-19 Cases Have Decreased Drastically, Deputy Governor Riza Patria Says The Provincial Government To Consider Extending The Large-Scale Social Restricions

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is still considering extending the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) which will end tomorrow, Monday, March 8.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will announce the decision to extend the Jakarta PSBB after coordinating with the Central Government.

"God willing, we will continue to coordinate with the central government, with the central task force, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), the epidemiologists, we will coordinate with all of them", said Riza to reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, March 7.

For information, daily cases of COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta have dropped drastically since the beginning of March 2021. The daily corona cases in Jakarta currently range above 1.000 to 2.000 per day.

When compared with daily cases in the period from January to February 2021, the number of cases is currently decreasing drastically. Where the number of cases ranged from 3.000 to 4.000 per day. The daily case in Jakarta was followed by the exit of Jakarta from the COVID-19 red zone which was announced by the COVID-19 Task Force some time ago.

Regarding this matter, Riza assessed that with the decline in corona cases in Jakarta, the death rate due to the COVID-19 outbreak has also decreased. He claims the cure rate has also continued to rise up.

"So far we are grateful that Jakarta has come out of the red zone. The cure rate has increased, the death rate has decreased by 1.6, our PCR number has reached 3.1 million. The PCR specimens are even 3.8 million", said the Gerindra politician.

It is known that the PSBB in DKI Jakarta is a follow-up to the Central Government's policy of imposing Micro-based restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in Java-Bali which will also end tomorrow.
