JAKARTA - Three crews of two fishing vessels and squid were killed because they allegedly drank mixed liquor (alcohol).

Head of Merauke Police, AKBP Untung Sangaji admitted that they are crew members of two different ships currently in Kumbe.

The three crew members who died as a result of consuming mixed alcohol, namely NA and ZM, are crew members from KM Usaha Maju 18, and SP from KM Sinar Prima.

"They are drinking mixed alcohol on their respective ships and the two crew members who worked at KM Usaha Maju 18 are taken to the Kumbe Community Health Center due to pain but due to limited equipment they brought to Kurik Health Center", said Sangaji March 6.

From the provisional statement, it is revealed that they had consumed mixed liquor and this is was confirmed by the Puskesmas (Health Center) which states that they still smell alcohol.

To ensure this, the police examined witnesses who are also colleagues of the victims.

"Their colleagues are currently on their way from Kumbe to the fishing port in Merauke in Papua to fulfill the investigators' summons", he said.
