Bobby Nasution’s Order To Focus On Handling COVID-19 By Implementing 3M+3T Massively

JAKARTA - Medan Mayor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution ordered his staff to make the handling of COVID-19 the main focus and attention of the Medan City Government.

He said this when giving directions as well as opening the 2021 Medan City Development Control, Planning and Implementation Coordination Meeting at Hotel Santika Dyandra, Wednesday, March 3.

Bobby emphasized collaboration between regional apparatus organizations (OPD) in handling this pandemic. He reminded that all OPDs, sub-district heads, village heads, and neighborhood heads must assist the health office in implementing health protocols until the target of mass immunity for Medan residents is achieved.

"Promote 3M massively. And also do 3T, testing, tracing, and threatening. We must succeed in the vaccination program that is currently being carried out", Bobby said as quoted from the Medan City Government website, Thursday, March 4.

Apart from health issues, Bobby also emphasized the importance of OPD and regional collaboration in overcoming various urban and community service problems. One of them is about cleanliness.

Bobby said Medan could collaborate with Deliserdang so that it was in line with the Medan Binjai Deliserdang Karo (Mebidangro) concept. According to him, a grand design is needed that can solve common problems and should benefit all parties.

Bobby's instructions regarding the Flood and Heritage of Medan City

On the same occasion, Bobby also highlighted the problem of flooding. According to him, this problem can also be handled in collaboration, not only with the closest regency/regency but with the provincial and central governments.

"We cannot solve this flood problem alone. Therefore, build collaboration well. And to go to the center, we must have a grand design and good data collection", he said.

In another area, Bobby stated that the Kesawan area is very potential, both in terms of tourism and the economy. Therefore, he hopes that all DPOs will collaborate for the development of this heritage area.

Bobby said that Kesawan could become the face of Medan City as well as a tourism center and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) businesses. Of course, he said, cultural heritage in the heritage area must be preserved.

"I remind the Police to really supervise so that no development in the area changes the shape of the original building", said Bobby.

He instructed the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Head of West Medan Sub-District, and the Head of Kesawan Village to immediately stop the development that is destroying the cultural heritage in the area.

To note, the event was attended by the Head of Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) Representative Office for North Sumatra, Yono Andi Atmoko, Deputy Mayor of Medan, H. Aulia Rachman, Regional Secretary of Medan City, Ir. Wiriya Alrahman, Assistant Secretariat, Mayor's Expert Staff, OPD leaders, Kaban, Directors of Regional Companies, head of Divisions, and Head of villages throughout Medan City were held with the application of strict health protocols.
