Stories Of Depok Religious Figures Vaccinated With COVID-19: It Doesn't Sick

JAKARTA - As many as 260 interfaith figures in Depok City have been vaccinated against COVID-19 since Tuesday, March 2. The location of the second phase of vaccination targeting public service officers was held at Hasanah Graha Afiah Hospital.

One of the religious figures in Depok City, namely the General Secretary of the Depok City Association of Local Churches (PGIS), Ranap Sinaga, told VOI his experience of being vaccinated.

On Monday, March 1, Ranap received news from the Depok City Health Office that several religious leaders had received vaccinations. Then, he is scheduled to undergo the vaccine on Wednesday, March 3.

"The vaccination schedule for religious figures in Depok is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Because many are enthusiastic, religious figures who register to be vaccinated are waiting for their turn in the following weeks. You see, per day is limited to 60 people", Ranap told VOI, Thursday, March 4.

Ranap said that he almost failed to get a vaccination injection. The 53-year-old man said that when he was undergoing health screening before being injected, his blood pressure was high.

Ranap admitted that he had a comorbid disease, namely diabetes. However, currently, his blood pressure is not as bad as last year. He then asked permission to rest for a while before his blood pressure was checked again.

"I almost failed to get vaccinated. When I got my blood pressure, it turned out that the tension was high. Maybe because I had activities in the morning, in the afternoon I went straight to the hospital", said Ranap.

"Then I told the doctor who screened me that I was just tired. I asked for permission to rest for 20 minutes, after that the tension was repeated, Praise God. When I was re-tensioned, it became normal", he continued.

Until finally, Ranap received a vaccination injection. When the syringe was inserted into his left arm, Ranap hardly felt anything. He only had time to feel that there was a syringe pressing on his skin.

"I didn't feel the injection. The doctor was smart. When I was injected, I was invited to chat, suddenly finished. People said it was like being bitten by an ant, but I didn't really feel it", said Ranap.

After the injection, Ranap returned to rest for 30 minutes before returning home. After that, he felt a little sore in the arm. However, that was all.

"There is soreness in my arm, but it only feels a little. I am not nauseous either. After being vaccinated, I immediately ate a lot", he concluded.
