JAKARTA - The National Police said the families of the victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane crash had received information on the progress of the identification process.

Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said the information had been conveyed to the family of the victim who had not been identified.

"Yes, because all of them have been closed, the 3 that have been informed. Because this is the maximum task the DVI team can do," Rusdi told reporters, Tuesday, March 2.

According to Rusdi, the victims' families who have not been identified understand this. Because, until now the DVI team has worked hard.

"We will notify what has not been identified and the family will understand. We have worked at the maximum for the DVI team," he said.

On the other hand, Rusdi also said that the families of the victims who have not been identified still receive their rights in the form of compensation. This is a form of responsibility from the airline.

"I think I have all of these rights. I think I have got all of those rights. Previously, Sriwijaya's management has explained that Sriwijaya will also give rights to these victims," he said.

For information, the National Police's DVI team again identified a passenger who was the victim of the Sriwijaya Air SJY 182 plane crash some time ago. The victim who was identified by the identity of Khasanah.

So, a total of 59 victims have been identified. Meanwhile, 3 other victims have not been identified.

Meanwhile, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft on the Jakarta-Pontianak route lost contact on the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno Hatta Airport on Saturday, January 9, 2020.

Furthermore, the authorities confirmed that the plane crashed around Male Island and Lancang Island, Thousand Islands.

The total aircraft carried 62 people, including 12 crew members and 50 passengers consisting of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.
