In their statement on Twitter, the Archbishop of Myanmar Cardinal Maung Bo revealed that the name of the nun who bravely "confronted" the Myanmar police and military was Ann Nu Thawng.
Cardinal Maung Bo wrote, with tears in his eyes, Nu Thawng begged and stopped the security forces from carrying out violence and arresting protesters.
"Today, the rioting has been severe throughout the country. Police arrested, beat, and even shot at the public. About 100 protesters were able to escape the police because of the nun", Cardinal Maung Bo wrote.
