JAKARTA - Former Democratic Party politician Ferdinand Hutahaen mentioned the performance of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on his Twitter account, @FerdinandHaean3, Saturday, February 27. This is related to the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget which was disbursed for the Formula E event, which until now has not been realized due to COVID-19 reasons.

Ferdinand's statement coincided with the KPK's Hand-Arrest Operation (OTT) against the Governor of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) Nurdin Abdullah, this morning.

Apart from securing Nurdin, the KPK also secured several related officials during the silent operation which began on Friday, February 26 at 23.00 p.m. local time.

"The current number of KPK RI employees is around 1586 people with a budget of IDR 1.3 trillion, which is quite large. IDR 1.3 trillion is the same as IDR 1.300 billion", tweeted Ferdinand.

Unfortunately, according to Ferdinand, with a large number of funds, the KPK only conducted OTT for parties involved in corruption of IDR 1 billion.

"It's good, but it's not good that there is a Regional Budget (APBD) of IDR 1.6 trillion for Formula E, which is unclear at this time being ignored. The KPK is lousy, but claims to be weakened", explained Ferdinand.

In the previous tweet, Ferdinand also commented on the news in the media containing the KPK OTT against Nurdin Abdullah. "Wowwwww, when will it be examined?", said Ferdinand.

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to postpone the implementation of the Formula E electric car racing event, known as the Jakarta E-Prix, in the near future.

PT Jakarta Propertindo's Corporate Communication Manager, Melisa Sjach, said that Anies had conveyed this directive to the Organizing Committee (OC) Formula E Jakarta.

"DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan issued a directive that was received by OC Formula E Jakarta that the Jakarta E-Prix was postponed", Melisa said in her statement, Friday, January 22.

Melisa said the Formula E event which has now been postponed twice is due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta. DKI has to hit the case first, before the environmentally friendly car racing event can be continued.

"This step is an initiative as well as a response to input from stakeholders to ensure mutual safety as a priority. The reason for this delay includes the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the city", said Melisa.

However, Melissa guarantees that the commitment fee or down payment paid annually to the International Automotive Federation (FIA) is not forfeited. So, DKI Jakarta can still continue the Formula E title if it is ready.

"It is certain that the commitment fee funds will not be lost. We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with FEO to see the possibility of rescheduling at the first opportunity", she said.

Formula E is planned to be held on June 6, 2020. However, DKI Governor Anies Baswedan postponed the implementation because the COVID-19 pandemic emerged in Indonesia.

The postponement of Formula E is contained in the letter of the Governor of DKI Number 117/-1.857.73. This letter is addressed to the Jakarta E-Prix Organizing Committee on March 9, 2020.

Even though it is postponed, DKI still pays an annual commitment fee. The commitment fee is paid annually for five years, with two terms per year. In August 2019, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has paid the first term of 10 million pounds. Then, the second term of £ 10 million was also paid in December 2019.

Until finally the COVID-19 outbreak broke out. The budget has been tampered with so that it can be allocated for handling the coronavirus. However, DKI is still budgeting 11 million pounds for the first-term payment in 2020. In total, 31 pounds have been disbursed.

Then, the DKI Provincial Government also plans to pay a commitment fee in 2021 of £ 24.2 million. In 2022 it will pay back £ 26.6 million, in 2023 it will be £ 26.6 million and in 2024 £ 29.2 million. This payment is still made so that the five-season racing event can be postponed and starts next year.
