Polri Rejects Report Of Alleged Violation Of Jokowi's Crowd In NTT

JAKARTA - The National Police rejected the report of the Islamic Youth Movement (GPI) regarding the alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) by President Joko Widodo and the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat, during a working visit to NTT.

GPI's Head of Law and Human Rights Fery Dermawan said the report was rejected on the grounds that it had to be formally filed. But the context of the official submission was not explained.

"So the point is that our evidence is returned there is only a statement that this is to be officially submitted again," said Fery to reporters, Friday, February 26.

"That's why we are also confused about the language, how is it officially? Is this not official or what? Or is this whether we also don't understand," he continued.

In fact, Fery believes that the reporting by GPI includes formal submissions. But overlooked this, he said the most important thing was that the GPI had completed its obligation as a citizen to report violations.

"The important thing is that we have fulfilled our obligations as citizens who see the violation of the law. Whatever action is taken by the police, we hope for the best," he said.

GPI Chairman Diko Nugraha added, in the future GPI will coordinate with other parties. Later, the next steps will be determined regarding the alleged violations of the prokes.

"We consider the matter of serious violations of the prokes law and the quarantine law, no matter who is a citizen of this republic. Moreover, he is part of a public official who violates, that should be an example," he said.

For information, the alleged violation of the prokes was said to have occurred during the visit of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to Sikka Regency, Maumere, NTT, Tuesday, February 20.
