The Flood Post In Cipinang Melayu Disbanded Because Of Using FPI Attributes

JAKARTA - The flood post in Cipinang Melayu, East Jakarta must be disbanded. This is because the attributes of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) are used.

Reporting from ERA.id, dozens of former FPI members participated in helping flood victims in Cipinang Melayu, Saturday, February 20.

On-site monitoring, as many as 15 ex-FPI members came to the flood site in Cipinang Melayu.

Several former FPI members do appear to be wearing several FPI attributes. This can be seen in the shirts used, life jackets, rubber boats, and the flag bearing the FPI logo.

FPI also set up a post at the residence of one of the volunteer members, Jl. Cipinang Melayu in front of Cipinang Mall. They prepared a place for public kitchen posts and consumption assistance for the community.

However, this FPI Post did not last long. According to one of the volunteers, the police came to the post and gave them 5 minutes that the FPI humanitarian post had to be disbanded, or the volunteers would be taken to the Police.

"Please remove the attributes (to FPI)", said a police officer at the location, Saturday, February 20.

Until now there has been no information from the police regarding the incident in Cipinang Melayu.

The previous government banned all activities of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) organization. The government also prohibits the use of FPI attributes and symbols.

"It prohibits the carrying out of activities, the use of FPI symbols and attributes in the jurisdiction of the Republic of Indonesia", he said

"If there is a violation as described in the dictum above, law enforcement officials will stop all activities carried out by the Islamic Defenders Front", he said.

Eddy also asked the community not to be influenced and involved in activities or the use of FPI symbols and attributes. Also, the public is asked to report to law enforcement officials any activities, the use of the attributes and symbols of the organization.

"The government prohibits FPI activities and will stop any activities carried out by FPI because FPI no longer has a legal standing either as a mass organization or as an ordinary organization", said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD in the same press conference.

Mahfud explained de jure, FPI since 20 June 2019 has disbanded as a mass organization. However, FPI as an organization is considered by the government to carry out activities that violate order, security and are against the law.

With the prohibition of all FPI activities, the central government has asked local governments to act firmly against activities on behalf of FPI.
