Akhyar Nasution's Lawsuit Is Knocked Out By The Constitutional Court, Bobby Nasution Is The Winner Of The Medan Regional Election

MEDAN - The lawsuit of the Medan Mayor and Deputy Mayor Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi regarding the dispute over the results of the Medan Regional Election was declared null and void by the Constitutional Court (MK).

The Constitutional Court stated that the lawsuit that had been registered in the Constitutional Case Registration Book (BRPK) with No. 41 / PHP.KOT-XIX / 2021 was null and void because the Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi pair filed a withdrawal of the lawsuit request.

This was read by the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usaman while chairing the Medan Pilkada trial which was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Indonesian Constitutional Court, Monday, February 15.

"Declared the petition's petition. This was decided in a deliberation meeting for constitutional judges," said Anwar.

Meanwhile, the KPU Medan will soon appoint the Bobby Nasution - Aulia Rachman pair as the elected candidate pair for the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Medan.

Coordinator of the Law and Supervision Division of the KPU Medan, Zefrizal, said that his party respects every step and constitutional action taken by the candidate pair Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi.

Based on PKPU Number 5 of 2020 concerning the stages and schedule of the election as well as KPU official letter No 135 of 2021, it is stated that the regency / city KPU will determine the elected candidate pair no later than 5 days after the MK decides that the application is declared null and void.

"For certainty on the determination of the chosen candidate on what date, God willing, tomorrow through the internal plenary of the KPU Medan, we will discuss it," he said when contacted, Monday, February 15.

Zefrizal believes that the cancellation request submitted by Akhyar-Salman is based on existing arguments. Likewise, the Medan KPU has submitted answers to the Court based on existing facts.

"Because of that, we are grateful that the case has been deemed completed and at the same time ask that all parties, especially Medan city residents, accept the Constitutional Court's decision," he concluded.

Based on the results of the Medan KPU recapitulation, the Bobby-Aulia pair obtained 393,327 votes or 53.45 percent of valid votes. Meanwhile, the Akhyar Nasution-Salman Alfarisi pair won 342,580 votes or 46.55 percent of the votes.
