This Member Of The DKI DPRD From The PDIP Faction Called A Budget Of Rp1.1 Trillion Has Been Disbursed For Formula E

JAKARTA - Member of Commission B DPRD DKI, Gilbert Simanjuntak said, the total budget that has been disbursed by the DKI Provincial Government in the Formula E performance plan has reached Rp1.1 trillion.

The plan for the electric-powered car racing event was originally scheduled for June 6, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plan to apply for Formula E was postponed indefinitely.

Gilbert explained the details of the budget that had been issued. The commitment fee is IDR 360 billion in the first term and IDR 200 billion in the second term.

"So, a fund of Rp560 billion for commitment fees has been paid to Formula E Holding since 2019," Gilbert said in his statement, Tuesday, January 26.

Then, there are direct and indirect measured funds that have also been paid with a total of Rp. 143 billion. This fund was used for changes to the Monas field which from the beginning was planned to be related to Rormula E.

Apart from that, regional capital participation in PT Jakarta Propertindo was disbursed for activities related to Formula E.

There are details, including Rp. 5 billion for a feasibility study, Rp. 600 million for socialization, and Rp. 10 billion for public services and others.

"This fee is not clear whether it has been spent and used or canceled. Then the cost for the initial negotiations to New York which will be conducted by the Governor in 2019," he said.

Then, there are still direct costs in the form of a Bank Guarantee of IDR 423 billion in 2020 that will be paid to the bank. Then, there are also several Formula E budgets that are also available in several SKPDs such as the Youth and Sports Service, the Tourism Office, and the Transportation Service.

According to Gilbert, the funds that have been disbursed can actually be diverted for more important things. Moreover, according to Gilbert, Formula E is not really needed by society.

"Seeing that the estimated cost that has been disbursed is more than Rp1.1 trillion, it should have been allocated from the start for flood handling. Not planning a Formula E race that is not needed by the community," he explained.

"It could also be allocated to accelerate the handling of Covid-19 and economic recovery by accelerating vaccinations to a total of 18.3 million people," he added.

Previously reported, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan decided to postpone the implementation of the Formula E electric car racing event, known as the Jakarta E-Prix, in the near future.

Even though it was postponed again, PT Jakarta Propertindo's Corporate Communication Manager, Melisa Sjach Melissa, guaranteed that the annual commitment fee or down payment to the International Automotive Federation (FIA) was not forfeited. So, DKI can still continue the Formula E title if it is ready.

"It is certain that the commitment fee will not be lost. We will continue to monitor the situation and work closely with FEO to see the possibility of rescheduling at the first opportunity," said Melisa.
