JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning so that the public was aware of rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in three areas of Jakarta, Tuesday.

"Be aware of the potential for rain which can be accompanied by lightning, lightning and strong winds of short duration in the areas of West Jakarta, South Jakarta and Central Jakarta between noon and late afternoon," said an early warning statement quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 26.

Some of the weather conditions in the afternoon to evening in Jakarta will be subject to light rain, including in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta and South Jakarta, while other areas are expected to be cloudy.

Moving on at night, the entire area of Jakarta is expected to be cloudy. Meanwhile, light rain took place in the early hours of the morning in the Thousand Islands and North Jakarta.

The BMKG reports that the average air temperature in the Jakarta area ranges from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 80 to 100 percent.

BMKG also predicts that the weather in Bogor City and Depok City, West Java, will rain on a medium-scale day.

The rainy situation in the Bogor area can affect the discharge of the Katulampa Dam which passes through the Ciliwung River to Jakarta, while the rain in Depok contributes to an increase in the discharge upstream of the Sunter River.
