State Property Damaged Due To Earthquake In West Sulawesi And Floods In South Kalimantan, DJKN: Total Loss IDR 935.3 Billion

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of State Wealth (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) noted that many state-owned goods (BMN) were damaged by the 6.2 Richter scale earthquake in Majene, West Sulawesi and floods in South Kalimantan.

Based on DJKN data, overall state losses due to natural disasters that occurred in West Sulawesi and South Kalimantan totaled Rp935.3 billion.

Head of West Sulawesi Regional Office of DJKN, Ekka Sukadana, said the damage to BMN due to the earthquake that occurred in West Sulawesi had caused the government to suffer losses of Rp.494.28 billion. Damage occurred to 279 BMN objects in Mamuju and Majene Districts.

He continued, the affected buildings consisted of 118 objects in the form of state buildings and 161 objects in the form of office buildings to provide public services.

"This is in the form of buildings, state houses, and offices that support central government functions in the cities of Mamuju and Majene in particular," he said, in a media talk show, in Jakarta, Friday, January 22.

He said, the earthquake damage also had an impact on infrastructure. It was recorded that 23 bridges built by the government were damaged. Including the road in Majene was also damaged

"The impact on infrastructure is quite a lot as well as for 23 bridges and for temporary roads we have obtained data on 20 km on the Trans Sulawesi road. The value is quite good at Rp. 405.72 billion," he explained.

The potential loss in South Kalimantan is IDR 35.3 billion

Regional Office of DJKN for South and Central Kalimantan, Ferdinan Lengkong, said that 11 state-owned items were affected by the flood. The loss value reached IDR 35.3 billion.

Furthermore, Ferdinan said, some of the affected BMN include KPP and KPP Pratama Banjarmasin, KPP Pratama Barabai, KPP Pratama Batulicin, and TVRI South Kalimantan.

However, he said, a number of ministries and institutions have also submitted insurance claims to the DJKN. Ferdinan said that his party is still collecting data on other BMNs that may have been affected by the flood.

Ferdinan said that the data collection of BMN damage was hampered. This is because the entire Banjarmasin area is under water. So that officers are still focused on assistance.

"We, especially the office in Banjarmasin, are completely submerged by water, but we cannot tell you yet. There are several offices that have submitted claims," he said.
