JAKARTA - The President Director of Sriwijaya Air, Jefferson Jauwena, emphasized that he would evaluate the internal of the airline after the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

"There will definitely be an internal evaluation, but we are waiting for this accident report," said Jefferson after the flower-sowing event on the KRI Semarang, Thousand Islands, Friday, January 22.

Jefferson said Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 was coordinating with the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) and the Ministry of Transportation in analyzing the causes of the crash.

Currently, the NTSC is researching a black box with a flight data recorder (FDR) type to investigate the cause of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 accident. Meanwhile, the black box with the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) type is still being searched.

"Of course we will continue to coordinate with related parties, such as the KNKT and the Ministry of Transportation to ensure operational safety so that things like this don't happen again," he said.

Jefferson expressed his condolences to the families of the plane victims, both passengers and crew. He hopes that all victims can be immediately identified by the Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team.

"Of course we are sad and also lost. It is undeniable that we also feel very deep sadness. We also lost my colleagues from Sriwijaya Air and I am personally devastated by this situation," said Jefferson.

"As previously stated, we will commit to providing victims' rights as soon as possible," he continued.
