JAKARTA - The National Police's Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has successfully identified four bodies of victims of the Sriwijaya Air plane crash registration number PK-CLC SJ-182.

"The team managed to identify four victims today, so that the total identified was 47," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Thursday, January 21.

The victims who were identified were Sevia Daro, Angga Fernanda Afrion, Rion Yogatama, and Rusni.

The four victims were identified through DNA testing. Sevia Daro, Rion Yogatama, and Rusni were identified based on comparable DNA data from their biological fathers, while Angga Fernanda was identified through comparative DNA data from biological children.

Thus, the total number of victims of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 crash that was identified was 47 people. To date, the Police DVI Team has received 324 body bags and 264 property bags.

"Hopefully tomorrow the team will be able to identify more recognizable victims so that they can provide assurance to the victims' families," said Rusdi.

The National Police DVI team and the National Police Hospital today also handed over three bodies to the family, namely on behalf of Theophilus Ura Dari, Faisal Rahman, and Yulian Andhika. "The total number of victims who were handed over to the families of 35 victims," said Rusdi.
