DKI COVID-19 Cases Reached New Records For Donation From Family Clusters

JAKARTA - COVID-19 cases in Jakarta have increased again after having decreased in the last few days. The addition of positive cases of COVID-19 in DKI reached a new record on Wednesday, January 20, namely 3,786 cases.

Meanwhile, the additions on Tuesday, January 19 were 2,563 cases; Monday, January 18, there were 2,361 cases; Sunday, January 17, there were 3,395 cases; Saturday, January 16, 3,536 cases; on Friday, January 15, there were 2,541 cases; and Thursday, January 14 with 3,165 cases.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of the DKI Health Service, Dwi Oktavia, said that the increase in COVID-19 cases in Jakarta was in line with the increase in family clusters over the past week.

"Based on data collected from January 11 to 17, 2021, the proportion of family clusters continues to increase from the previous weeks," Dwi said in his statement, Wednesday, January 20.

This week, the proportion of family clusters of the number of active COVID-19 cases in DKI reached 44 percent. This figure is an increase from the previous three weeks, by 40 percent, 41 percent and 43 percent, respectively.

Dwi said, after the Christmas and New Year holidays on January 3 to 17, 2021, there were 442 family clusters with 1,241 positive cases recorded.

"The majority of cases of COVID-19 in the family cluster traveled from West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and Banten, mostly using private vehicles," he said.

Meanwhile, he continued, the proportion of office clusters decreased to 2.7 percent this week.

Dwi said that his party predicts that the peak of additional cases after the year-end holiday will still be even higher 14 days after the holiday, namely on January 17 to January 31, 2021.

For this reason, Dwi asked DKI residents to continue to be aware of the increase in family clusters. Dwi appealed to the public to continue to improve 3M's behavior and avoid crowds. In addition, it is also necessary to remind others to always apply health protocols.

"For residents who already have positive results from the COVID-19 examination, they can contact the nearest Puskesmas to determine the condition of their complaints," Dwi said.

"For patients without complaints and minor complaints, self-isolation or controlled isolation is directed. For patients with moderate, severe and critical complaints, hospitalization and Puskesmas will be directed to help find referrals," he continued.

For information, the number of active cases in Jakarta as of January 20 increased by 2,009 cases, so that the number of people who are still in isolation or being treated to this day is 21,224.

The total number of Confirmation cases in Jakarta to date is 236,075 cases. 210,983 were declared cured with a cure rate of 89.4 percent. Then, there were 3,868 people who died with a death rate of 1.6 percent.
