JAKARTA - The fit and proper test of the National Police chief candidate Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo has been held. Subsequently, Commission III of the DPR immediately sent a letter to the DPR leadership so that a plenary meeting to determine the new National Police Chief was immediately held.

"With the tagline Presisi, Commission III approved the appointment of Mr. Sigit to become the National Police Chief. Next we are waiting for the plenary meeting to be approved by the DPR and today we are sending a letter to the DPR RI Leadership," said Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR Adies Kadir in a press conference held at the Parliament complex. , Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, January 20.

He said, if possible, a plenary meeting would be held on Thursday, January 21, so that the results could be submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"If possible, as soon as possible, a plenary approval from the DPR will be carried out tomorrow and (the result, red) can be immediately sent to the President," he said.

With the immediate submission of the DPR's approval, Listyo did not have to wait long to be appointed as the new National Police Chief replacing General Idham Azis who was about to enter retirement.

As previously reported, Commission III of the DPR approved Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the Chief of Police who will replace Idham Azis. Furthermore, the name of Komjen Listyo Sigit to be brought to the paripuna meeting so that a second-level decision can be made by the DPR.

In making decisions, all factions in Commission III of the DPR approved Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the new National Police Chief and approved the honorable dismissal of General Idham Azis as Chief of Police.

"Based on the considerations of the views and notes conveyed by the final factions, the leadership and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission III agreed to honor the dismissal of the National Police Chief on behalf of Police General Idham Azis and approved the appointment of Police Commissioner General Listyo Sigit as Chief of Police," said the Chairman of the Commission. Furthermore, Herman continued, this decision will be brought to the plenary session which will be held in the near future.
