Anambas Fishermen Find A Canister With Chinese Writing, Some Call It A Missile

ANAMBAS - Residents in East Siantan District, Anambas Islands Regency, Riau Islands Province, were shocked by the discovery of objects that were said to resemble missiles.

The blue object with several Chinese inscriptions was first discovered by a fisherman named Ain and his son Aris on the shore of the local area, at around 15.30 WIB, Tuesday, January 19.

"This is the first time I have seen this object. So I don't know the name of the device," Ain said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 20.

A local young man Hendriyano stated that until now the object was still at the site of the initial discovery.

"It weighs an estimated 25 kilograms with a length of 1.5 meters," said Hendriyano.

Local residents have reported the finding of the object to the Anambas Regency Government and the authorities.

"The information is, this afternoon the authorities will come to see and check the object," said Hendriyano.
