JAKARTA - The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) has finished downloading the data in the black box type flight data recorder (FDR) Sriwijaya AIr SJ-182 aircraft that crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands.

Chairman of the NTSC Aviation Accident Investigation Sub Committee, Nurcahyo Utomo, said that the FDR data had 370 parameters, 27 hours of recording covering 18 flights including the last flight that had an accident. Once downloaded, the NTSC will analyze the data.

"We are still examining this data. Until now, we have not been able to share or have not been able to publish the data from the FDR," said Nurcahyo in his statement, Tuesday, January 18.

From the FDR Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 data download, Nurcahyo admitted that his party received instructions related to indicators of time, altitude, speed, direction, aircraft condition, airspeed, vertical acceleration, magnetic headers, wheel position, horizontal stabilizers, fuel flow, and other indicators. which supports the accident investigation process.

In the process of analyzing the causes of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane crash, the NTSC was assisted by an investigative team from the NTSC, the Boeing company, to General Electric as an engine manufacturer. Plus, two investigators from Singapore also helped.

"We hope that within 30 days after the accident, we will publish a preliminary report. When the preliminary report will be published, we will convey it to the wider community," said Nurcahyo.

However, Nurcahyo admitted that the investigation to reveal the cause of the crash would be complete if the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) type black box was immediately found.

The joint SAR team had previously found a CVR black box casing. However, the casing is detached from the core material, which is the memory that records the conversation between the pilot and the copilot before the plane crashes.

Nurcahyo hopes that the SAR team will find the CVR black box in the near future. "We also really hope that CVR can be found to support the data we have obtained from FDR," he said.

SAR operation findings so far

Data compiled by Basarnas on the eleventh day of search, namely Tuesday, January 19 at 20.30 WIB, explained that there were findings of 324 body bags containing body parts.

Then, as many as 115 aircraft materials were found, with the details of 63 small bags containing aircraft debris and 55 large aircraft pieces.

Currently, the SAR team has also found a black box type flight data recorder (FDR) and a black box cockpit voice recorder (CVR) shell. Meanwhile, CVR core memory has not been found.

In the search for the last three days, the SAR team was confronted by bad weather such as rain and high waves. So, the findings of victims and aircraft material are not as much as the initial search period.

Based on the findings of the SAR team in the form of body parts and properties belonging to the victims, the National Police's disaster victim identification (DVI) team has identified 40 victims as of Tuesday, January 19 at 17.00 WIB.
