JAKARTA - DPR Commission III member Arsul Sani said Commission III would strictly implement the COVID-19 health protocol (prokes) during the fit and proper test of the National Police chief candidate. The fit and proper test was held on Wednesday, January 20 by limiting physical presence in the meeting room. "Because this is still the COVID-19 pandemic, we also set a health protocol. Each faction that is physically present is represented by two people, the rest follows virtually," Arsul said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 19. He said that the staff of candidates for the National Police who were present were also limited in their attendance in the meeting room, namely not more than 9 people. That number, according to him, is still within the limits of the COVID-19 program which is indeed possible in a meeting. According to him, usually Commission III of the DPR immediately listens to the opinion of the factions after holding a feasibility test, whether or not to accept the figure of the National Police Chief candidate proposed by the President. "We will see tomorrow, whether it will immediately be followed up with the views of the factions. For example, if their view is accepting it will be immediately forwarded to the DPR Leadership to be scheduled in the DPR Plenary Meeting," he said.

Arsul ensured that the due diligence of the National Police chief candidate was open so that it could be witnessed directly by the public, but the number of people who attended was indeed limited because the condition was still a COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, the limitation on attendance also applies to journalists who will cover, so they are advised to follow the due diligence process through live broadcasts from Parliament TV.
