JAKARTA - A State Civil Servant (ASN) in Aceh with the initials AG (48) was arrested by Satpol PP and Wilayatul Hisbah (WH) Banda Aceh. He was arrested because he was caught violating Islamic law with an American woman (45) who was not her Muslim leader.

"Yes, they were arrested while the team was patrolling the Ulee Lheue area, Banda Aceh a few days ago," said Acting Head of Satpol PP and WH Banda Aceh Heru Triwijanarko in Banda Aceh, reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 19.

Heru said that both of them were currently being held in the custody of Satpol PP and WH in Aceh Province while waiting for the investigation process and the completion of the case file (P21) to be transferred to the Banda Aceh district attorney (Kejari).

"After we processed them for 1x24 hours, they confessed their actions, so we took them to the province to be detained while waiting for the next legal process," he said.

The Head of Islamic Law Enforcement of Satpol PP and WH Banda Aceh Safriadi explained that the incident occurred on Thursday (14/1). At around 15.00 WIB, Satpol PP personnel carried out routine patrols to the Ulee Lheue area of Banda Aceh.

Arriving at the TKP (scene of the case), the personnel saw that one of the cars that had stopped at the side of the road was swaying, arousing suspicion from the officers.

"After that, the officers got closer to the car and it turned out that they were already in the car in an unusual condition, we immediately took it to the office for inspection," said Safriadi.

After being examined, Safriadi continued, both of them admitted that they had made Ikhlitad (physical contact), with this confession it was concluded that they fulfilled the elements of violating Islamic law and were upgraded to further legal proceedings.

Safriadi said the couple was suspected of violating Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning the Law of Jinayat Article 23 paragraph 1 Jo Article 25 paragraph 1.

"From the results of examinations of violators and witnesses, they have violated qanun jinayat. Currently they are detained in the provincial cell for 20 days for further legal proceedings," said Safriadi.
