JAKARTA - Three Acehnese government civil servants (PNS) were arrested in connection with a suspected corruption case with state financial losses reaching hundreds of millions of rupiah.

The detention was carried out by the Aceh Singkil District Attorney's Office. The three civil servants who were detained were JD (former head of service), TR (commitment maker official) and RS (expenditure treasurer).

"The three suspects we are detained for the next twenty days, the three of them are detained in connection with the alleged corruption in the rehabilitation program for unfit for habitation (RTLH) in 2016," said Head of Aceh District Attorney Singkil M Husaini represented by the Head of the Special Crime Section Delfiandi who was contacted. from Meulaboh, Aceh Barat, reported by Antara, Friday, January 15.

Kasi Pidsus Aceh Kejari Singkil Delfiandi explained that the detention of the three suspects was due to the suspicion that the Rp1 billion Rehabilitation of Unworthy Houses (RTLH) project programmed in 2016 in the area was allegedly carried out not through the proper process.

In fact, according to the results of the audit of calculating state financial losses, he said, investigators have already pocketed an indication that state financial losses in the RTLH program reached Rp. 232 million.

He also emphasized that the detention of the three civil servants was to facilitate the ongoing legal process, as well as ensure that the three of them did not run away, lose evidence, or repeat the same actions.

In this case, the three civil servants in the Aceh Singkil District Government were suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) Juncto Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Corruption Crime in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code, said Delfiandi.
