SURABAYA - Chairman of the City Council of Surabaya Adi Sutarwijono is a recipient of the COVID-19 vaccine injection. This vaccination was followed by the ranks of the Surabaya regional leadership communication forum (Forkopimda) and several representatives of Surabaya residents.

When being injected, Adi seemed to clench his fists upwards. The injection process is short, less than a minute.

Asked about the preparations for taking part in the vaccination, the Head of the Surabaya City PDI-P DPC said there was nothing special. It's just that, he did rest early.

"I took a break last night at 22.00 WIB. I submitted several organizational agendas, last night I had a meeting with advocates from the Legal Aid and Advocacy Agency (BBHAR) of the PDI Perjuangan Surabaya to face a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court regarding the Pilkada until 21.30 WIB. Yes after that I went home, cleaned up myself, and rest at around 22.00 WIB, "Adi told reporters, Friday, January 15.

Resting for about eight hours, Adi then exercised in front of the house.

"I only drank warm water, dragon fruit juice, and market snacks, namely Nagasari and Lemper. After that, I cleaned myself up, prayed with my wife and children, and left. I arrived at City Hall around 08.40 WIB," said Adi.

Once he arrived at the Surabaya City Hall, Adi followed the procedures established by the Ministry of Health.

"Yesterday I also studied all vaccination procedures, so that we, who happen to be entrusted as public officials, can provide an example of compliance with the mechanism or SOP. I downloaded it from the Covid19.go.id site, I read it on my cellphone, regarding the decision of the Director General for Disease Prevention and Control regarding Technical Guidelines for Vaccination in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic, "he said.

"From this regulation, I know the mechanism that I must go through as a vaccine recipient. I hope all citizens will also read it, and of course read various education about vaccines. Vaccination is a collective work, it requires the participation of all parties," Adi added.

At City Hall, Adi also followed the mechanisms on a number of tables. Starting with registration and data verification by showing your e-KTP.

"Then we followed the history taken by the officers, checked our health condition, measured blood pressure, yes, a simple physical examination. After that, we were vaccinated. After being vaccinated, we recorded it," said Adi.

When Adi Sutarwijono's blood pressure did not meet the requirements, he was asked to rest while waiting for 20 minutes.

"Then I had my blood pressure checked again, and it was declared that I could be vaccinated. Thank God, I could be vaccinated. All leaders of the City of Surabaya set an example. They are not afraid to be vaccinated. Because vaccines protect themselves, their families and the community," said Adi.

After being vaccinated, Adi waited 30 minutes to see his post-vaccination reaction. "Check first whether there is an AEFI, Post Immunization Follow-up incident. I am grateful, there is no reaction whatsoever. This is evidence that vaccines are safe and lawful. So don't be afraid," he said.
