JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has pocketed 5 names of three-star generals (Komjen) as candidates for National Police Chief to replace General Idham Azis. Kapolri Idham will enter retirement at the end of January 2021.

The five names that have entered Jokowi's pocket are Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono, Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Boy Rafly Amar, Kabareskrim Polri Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Kalemdiklat Polri Komjen Arief Sulistyanto, and Head of National Police Headquarters Commissioner General Agus Andrianto.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD said, in choosing officials, Jokowi has a unique way. Usually, Jokowi will ask for several documents containing the names of each candidate.
