JAKARTA - Russian troops are said to have started using the KUB kamikaze drone made by ZALA Aero (affiliated Kalashnikov Concern) on the Ukrainian battlefield.

"Every ZALA UAV for the new Russian Ministry of Defense. Soldiers are starting to actively use it," President Kalashnikov Concern Alan Lushnikov told TASS, as reported by September 23.

Earlier, state company Rostec said Russian KUB and Lancet's kamkaze drones were widely used in combat operations in Ukraine, "successful in demonstrating their nature in combat conditions."

It said drones were mainly used to achieve long-distance ground targets.

UAV KUB, developed by ZALA Aero, carries a three-kilogram warhead. The maximum flight duration is 30 minutes at speed of up to 130 km/hour.

KUB ammunition, which was able to'stop' to find targets, successfully passed the government certification test in November 2021.

The series delivery to the Russian army is scheduled to begin in 2022.

It is known, the Lancet UAV, also produced by ZALA Aero, is equipped with several types of guide systems: coordinates, optoelectronics and a combination.

This drone has a television communication channel that transmits the target image, which allows for confirmation that the target has been hit.

In addition, the Complex drone is capable of destroying targets within a radius of up to 40 kilometers. Meanwhile, the maximum takeoff weight is 12 kilograms.
