PAMEKASAN - A joint team from the Pamekasan Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) has expanded the search for passengers on the missing ship that fell into the sea in the waters of Pasean Beach, Pamekasan.

"On this second day, our search is carried out within a radius of up to 25 kilometers from the coordinates of the initial incident," said Pamekasan Regency BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) Coordinator Budi Cahyono as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 14.

The passenger on the ship that disappeared because it fell into the sea was named M. Yusril Ahmadi (19), a resident from Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.

He is a passenger of KMP DLN Oasis on the Surabaya-Lombok route. Yusril fell when the ship passed in the waters of Pasean District.

Previously, on the first day, the search was only carried out within a radius of about 10 kilometers from the coordinates of the initial incident.

Apart from having more teams, the expansion of the search on the second day was also due to the fact that the victims were thought to have been carried far away by the sea currents.

Budi explained that in addition to conducting searches, the joint officers from BPBD Pamekasan Regency, Basarnas, assisted by the TNI and Polri, also disseminated information to fishermen.

To the fishermen who were met, the team asked if they found a suspicious figure to immediately submit a report to the Pamekasan Regency BPBD through the local village apparatus.

"The coordinates of the initial incident location are at 06°49.001'S 113°42.917'E in the waters of Pasean Beach, Pamekasan," said Budi.

Meanwhile, on the second day of the search, officers deployed two fleets of rubber boats consisting of one belonging to the Pamekasan Regency BPBD and another fleet belonging to the Basarnas team.

As in the first day of the search, three traditional boats belonging to Pasean fishermen also helped the officers in the search.

"Tonight, we temporarily stop the search, and we will resume tomorrow starting at 08.00 WIB," said the TRC Coordinator of the Pamekasan Regency BPBD, Budi Cahyono, explaining.

The accident of the ship's passenger falling into the sea (a different version because it jumped into the sea) was based on a report by the KMP DLN DLN officer, Oasis Alfian, to Basarnas, shortly after the incident, namely on September 11, 2022, at around 19.45 WIB.
