BANTEN - A joint team of officers confiscated tens of thousands of over-the-counter drugs and psychotropic drugs in 17 sub-districts in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province.

According to the Head of the Pharmacy and Food Safety Section of the Tangerang District Health Office Desi Tirtawati in Tangerang, the joint team managed to confiscate a total of 17,154 pills.

She detailed that the drugs seized included 304 psychotropic pills, 6,712 Tramadol pills, and 10,138 Trihexyphenidyl/Hexymer pills.

"It is estimated that the economic value of the drug is around IDR 50 million," said Desi.

In addition to confiscation of drugs, Desi said officers also sealed 20 drug stores that did not have operating permits.

"We will routinely carry out surveillance, so it is hoped that the quality and safety of drugs circulating in Tangerang Regency can be guaranteed for the community," she said.
