Bharada E Ready To Face Lawsuit Of Ex-Lawyer Deolipa Yumara

JAKARTA - Ronny Berty Talpesy, adviser to Bharada Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu or Bharada E, said his client and lawyer are ready to face the lawsuit filed by Deolipa Yumara at the South Jakarta District Court.

"That's his right (Yumara), we will face it," said Ronny, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 17.

Ronny officially became Bharada E's legal advisor, starting on August 10, 2022, simultaneously with the revocation of the power of attorney against Deolipa Yumara and Muh. Burhanuddin as legal adviser to Bharada E.

The revocation of power was met with opposition by Deolipa and his team, then filed a lawsuit against the law to the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (16/8), with Bharada E as the first defendant, Ronny as the second defendant and the National Police Chief Cq Kabareskrim as the third defendant.

Ronny mentioned the statement he made to the media in his capacity as legal adviser to Bharada E. So that the statement cannot be criminalized on the grounds that advocates are protected by the advocate law.

"You can't be (punished) dong, we are protected by the Law on Advocates and the Media is protected by the Press Law," he said.

He also emphasized that currently he is focused on accompanying Bharada E to undergo an ongoing examination since Tuesday (16/8) night.

"I focused on assisting Bharada E last night, there is still a follow-up examination," he said.

Ronny is optimistic that his client will get legal relief because he is not the main perpetrator, and is now helping investigators to uncover actual events as a witness to the perpetrator or a “justice collaborator”.

Meanwhile, the civil lawsuit filed by Deolipa Yumara, a former legal adviser to Bharada E, to the South Jakarta District Court is registered under Case Number: 753/Pdt.G/2022/PN JKT.SEL related to a civil lawsuit against the law.

The South Jakarta District Court has scheduled an inaugural trial for Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Deolipa Yumara said that his party demanded that he and Muh Burhanuddin remain Bharada E's legal counsel in the shooting case of Brigadier J. And demanded that they have the right to defend Bharada E until the court.

"So we filed a lawsuit against the three defendants, Defendant I Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu, Defendant II Ronny Talapessy, a lawyer who claimed to be Richard Eliezer's new lawyer and Defendant III of Kabareskrim," said Deolipa at the South Jakarta District Court, Jalan Ampera Raya, South Jakarta. , Monday (15/8).

Bharada E for the second time changed his lawyer or legal advisor. Previously, his legal advisor, Andreas Nihot, was appointed by Ferdy Sambo's legal team.

Nihot resigned from his legal counsel for Bharada E last Saturday (6/8). Then the Bareskrim Polri investigators appointed new legal advisors on August 6, 2022, namely Deolipa Yumara and Muh Burhanuddin.

On Wednesday (10/8) Bharada E made a letter of revocation of power of attorney against his team of legal advisors Deolipa Yumara and Muh Burhanuddin. And replace lawyer Ronny Berty Talpesy who was appointed by the parents and family of Bharada E.

Bharada E was named a suspect in the shooting of Brigadier J, along with Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Bripka Ricky Rizal and Strong Maaruf. The four were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary to Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code, with the threat of a death penalty, or life imprisonment or a maximum of 20 years.
