CPCS Survey: Prabowo Subianto's Highest Electability, Ganjar Pranowo-Anies Baswedan Chasing Each Other

JAKARTA - The survey results of the Center for Political Communication Studies (CPCS) show that the electability of the Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto occupies the highest position with a percentage achievement of 23.1 percent.

"Prabowo managed to achieve the highest electability in the presidential candidate market, while Anies and Ganjar competed tightly in the top three positions," said CPCS Executive Director Tri Okta in a statement quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 4.

Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo are vying for the second and third positions.

After winning in the April 2022 survey, Ganjar was again overtaken by Anies. Anies is in second place with 20.4 percent electability, a slight difference above Ganjar's 20.0 percent.

According to Okta, the presidential candidate market is now dominated by the big three, namely Prabowo, Anies, and Ganjar, with each of them having reached 20 percent of the electability.

"The chances of the three of them being promoted as presidential candidates are getting bigger, especially if electability continues to move up," said Okta.

The increasing electability of the three figures has widened the gap with other names, namely West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (5.6 percent), Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno (4.3 percent), and Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono or AHY. (3.3 percent).

Next up was the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa (2.8 percent), followed by DPR RI Chair Puan Maharani (2.0 percent), SOE Minister Erick Thohir (1.8 percent), and TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa (1.5 percent). percent).

"Prabowo, Anies, and Ganjar have a very big chance to be promoted as presidential candidates, while other names below them have the opportunity to become vice presidential candidates," said Okta.

The CPCS survey was conducted on 22-27 July 2022 with a total of 1,200 respondents representing 34 provinces who were interviewed face-to-face. The survey method is multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of about 2.9 percent and at a confidence level of 95 percent.
