SEMARANG - One person died after a tanker truck carrying Pertamina's fuel lost control while crossing a downhill road on Jalan Dr. Wahidin, Semarang City, Central Java.

The Head of Security and Safety of the Semarang Polrestabes Satlantas Ipda Suyatno said that the dead victim was the kernet of the tanker truck.

Ipda Suyatno explained that the unfortunate incident began when the truck numbered E 9296 YB was traveling from the south or up.

According to him, the position of the truck's cabin was suspected to have been released so that it opened upwards while driving.

"The driver is suspected of not being able to control the truck until it finally went to the right lane and entered the residents' yard," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.

During the incident, he continued, the truck also hit a motorcycle driver.

Ipda Suyatno said the motorcycle driver, who is an online motorcycle taxi driver, survived, although he suffered a broken bone.

Ipda Suyatno has not been able to determine the cause of the accident on the road with a downward contour.

Some of the injured victims have been taken to Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang for treatment.
