JAKARTA - Diponegoro University political observer Teguh Yuwono considered the statement by the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, to say that the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) would continue the leadership of President Joko Widodo.

According to Teguh, Airlangga's words were KIB's strategy to gain support from Jokowi's voter base.

"In politics, claims are common and reasonable. For example, KIB uses the words legacy of President Jokowi, it's an attempt to influence voters. After all, Pak Jokowi has grassroots, big political grassroots voters," said Teguh to reporters. , Friday, July 15.

By continuing Jokowi's legacy, according to Teguh, KIB initiated by Golkar, PAN and PPP will gain psychological support from the community. However, he said, this statement also needs to be strengthened by the President Jokowi team or the government team as a form of validation.

Teguh views the correlation when KIB claims to continue Jokowi's leadership can cooperate with PDIP. Because, according to him, Golkar, PAN, and PPP have good relations with the government and the party that won the election, namely PDIP.

"There is a glue there, when KIB talks about the presidential legacy, Jokowi himself is tied to Mrs. Mega, it is very possible that KIB will become a new axis or join PDIP," he explained.

Teguh assesses that KIB can still approach and dismantle coalitions as long as they have not been registered with the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"Although the people's voices have been seen where the trend is, it's just a matter of how political parties make that choice," he said.

Previously, Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartanto said the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) formed by Golkar with PAN and PPP is a coalition that will continue the legacy of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) administration.
