Do Not See The Sacrificial Cow 024 Belonging To Anies With Political Motives, NasDem: Just A Coincidence

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party responded to the polemic of the sacrificial cow belonging to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, which was considered political because it was numbered 024.

The limousine sacrificial cow weighing 1.1 tons for the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is also considered politically meaningful because it is black and white.

NasDem Deputy Chairperson Ahmad Ali, assessed that the number 024 which is identical to the political year 2024 is just a coincidence. According to him, there is no political element in naming Anies' sacrificial cow.

"I don't see that as a political motive. It's just a coincidence. The qurban committee (which gave the number 024) said Ahmad Ali, Monday, July 11.

Touching on the issue of Anies Baswedan being the presidential candidate proposed by NasDem, Ali said the former Minister of Education and Culture must also make efforts if he wants to run for the 2024 presidential election. Because Anies is one of the three presidential candidates recommended at the National Working Meeting.

"Anies is only one of the presidential candidates proposed by the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the NasDem Party. Of course, there must also be an effort from Anies if he really has that desire," said Ali.

Including the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo and the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General Andika Perkasa. Because, said Ali, all three have the same opportunity to be promoted as presidential candidates.

Apart from that, continued Ali, the three names still have to be communicated with other political parties that will form a coalition with NasDem. The reason is, the party has not yet decided who will be nominated to become a presidential candidate.

"Of course the names must be discussed with political parties," concluded Ahmad Ali.
